Elastic HPC

What is it

Elastic-HPC is an SD4H project that lets you have a private HPC deployment so you can work on data that cannot be stored on a shared system. You and your team will be the sole user of a SLURM cluster coming with all the bells and whistles of the [Magic Castle](https://github.com/ComputeCanada/magic_castle) project.

Is it for me?

If you are working with sensible data, need a computing system that can scale, but your data cannot be transferred on shared infrastructure, Elastic-HPC is a good alternative to the [Canadian national HPC servers by the Alliance](https://alliancecan.ca/en/services/advanced-research-computing/federation/national-host-sites).

What is Magic Castle

Magic Castle was first a project that aims to reproduce a standard Compute Canada HPC cluster (Compute Canada has been absorbed by the [Alliance](https://alliancecan.ca/)). It has its the fully compiled CC software stack and also comes with the mugqiq software stack and the mugqic references genomes maintaind respectively by the Alliance and the [C3G](https://computationalgenomics.ca/).
